SSIS ErrorColumn

In SSIS, there is a default column ErrorColumn in the error out of the data flow item (like OLE DB Source) . It is the lineageId of the output column, like the default output 0. For example, a “OLE DB Source” has a single output and a single column XYZ. The lineageid of the column is 123. In case error happen, the error output will report this lineageid to the ErrorColumn field. But, the object id and the lineageid of the XYZ field in the error output is going to be different.

So, there is no easy way to retrieve the error column.

With the lineageid, we can query the XML stream of the package to find out the column.
